Our future technology direction

Our central focus, from day 1, has always been to maximize the value of our clients' Internet solutions. Put simply - to get the best website for the money.

This has always put us in a middle ground as far as how we pursue the newest technologies. On the one hand - we want our clients' sites to be built using the latest Internet standards and methodologies, but, on the other hand, we don't want to waste our clients' money on a bleeding-edge technology that takes more time to implement because it is not consistently supported or well documented.

Though we constantly struggle with how to define which new technology or standard is "bleeding-edge" and which is "mature", we do a lot of research, and then favor the safer path. As of the spring of 2005, we are slowly moving away from our tried and true 3-tier COM solutions architecture, and migrating towards the newer technologies. These include:

  • XHTML with CSS for Presentation
  • C# and Microsoft's .NET Framework
  • XML for Data storage needs

After much research, we've determined these technologies to be mature and effective, both now and in the future. We also believe that these technologies will provide a scalable and standards-based solution for all of our new development initiatives.

Our new website

We just got finished uploading the newest version of our website template. Other than a couple lines out of place that need fixing, we're pretty happy with it. We went for an artistic, edgy theme for our 2004 site, but most people thought it just looked too dark. Give us any feedback you have on our new site, and let us know if you think there's anything we can improve.

This is our first test post

and more to come...
